Hulu has officially confirmed that Keanu Reeves will star in the TV adaptation of Eric Larson’s best-selling book The Devil in the White City. The film is produced by Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio . The latter bought the film rights to the novel back in 2010.
Sam Shaw, who worked on Castle Rock, will serve as writer, showrunner and executive producer. And the director’s chair will be taken by Todd Field, known for the films “Like Little Children” and “In the Bedroom.”
The Devil in the White City revolves around two characters. The first is Daniel H. Burnham (Reeves), a demanding but visionary architect who led the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893. The second is Dr. Henry Holmes, who operated the exhibit as America’s first modern serial killer.
