At a new presentation in China, Xiaomi showed the latest folding flagship: Mix Fold 2. This is the second smartphone of the brand, created in partnership with Leica: the first was Xiaomi 12S .
The inner screen is an 8.02-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED. It has a resolution of 2160×1914 pixels and supports 120Hz refresh rate. The outer screen is 6.56-inch AMOLED, also at 120Hz. Protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Both displays support Dolby Vision.
The smartphone received the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, complemented by 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of internal memory.
The main camera is triple: the main module is Sony IMX766 with a size of 6.88 mm. There is also a 13-megapixel wide-angle module and a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.
The thickness of the Mix Fold 2 in the unfolded state has decreased from 7.62 mm in the first generation to 5.4 mm. Thickness when folded – 11.4 mm, taking into account the camera. To achieve this, Xiaomi spent two years redesigning the hinge. The number of parts in it was reduced to the maximum, making it 35% lighter and 25% thinner. As a result, the weight also decreased: 262 g versus 317 g in the first generation.
At the same time, the battery capacity decreased slightly: from 5,020 mAh to 4,500 mAh. Together with a more energy-efficient processor, autonomy should not suffer: according to Xiaomi, the smartphone will work without recharging all day. 67 W fast charging is supported: with it, 100% of the charge can be replenished in 40 minutes.
Out of the box, Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 will run on Android 12L with a proprietary MIUI Fold 13 interface adapted specifically for foldable devices.
The Mix Fold 2 will go on sale on August 16 – but only in China. The prices are:
- 12 + 256 GB – 8,999 yuan (≈81,300 rubles)
