5 Recipes for Hearty and Balanced Bowls

Every week our author Dasha Poleshchikova tests new dishes and shares the results. She tried bowl recipes this week. Bowl is translated from English as “bowl”. According to legend, the Buddha, after meditating, wandered around the city with a bowl in which everyone could put him some food – vegetables, fruits, beans, cereals. The result is healthy and balanced meals.

  1. Boil rice according to package instructions.

  2. Cut the fish, avocado and cucumber into small cubes.

  3. Place rice in the center of the plate. Spread fish, vegetables and nori chips around. Serve with soy sauce and lemon.

Comments

The bowl according to this recipe turned out fresh and light. It is delicious to eat and just like that. But I liked to collect a semblance of a roll: wrap all the ingredients in nori and put it in your mouth. If desired, other vegetables and seafood can be added to the bowl. For example, bell peppers and shrimp.

Ingredients for two servings

  • 3 bananas

  • 2 nectarines

  • 200 g frozen strawberries

  • 150 g Greek yogurt

  • sprig of mint

  • shredded coconut for serving

Cooking

  1. Nectarines and one banana cut into small slices.

  2. Put two bananas, strawberries, yogurt and mint into a blender bowl. It is important to use a powerful blender with a metal blade, otherwise the frozen berry may not be crushed.

  3. Put the smoothie into a bowl. Garnish with fruit slices and coconut flakes.

Comments

This bowl recipe is a real dessert, almost ice cream! A good snack for a hot day. Fruits and berries can be used any. But be sure to add mint leaves – they bring freshness to the smoothie bowl.

Vegan bowl with bulgur and Korean carrots

Ingredients for two servings

  • ½ st. bulgur

  • several cauliflower florets

  • 3–4 champignons

  • 3 art. l. Korean carrot

  • 2 radishes

  • bunch of green onions

  • salt

Cooking

  1. Boil bulgur according to package instructions.

  2. Mushrooms and cauliflower cut into large pieces. Fry in a dry frying pan or bake in the oven until soft. This will take about twenty minutes.

  3. Radishes cut into circles. Finely chop the onion.

  4. Collect bowl. To do this, beautifully spread out all the ingredients in a deep bowl.

Comments

The bowl turned out bright and satisfying. What I liked the most about this bowl recipe is how different flavors and textures are combined. Fresh, crunchy radishes, spicy carrots, rather neutral cabbages and fragrant mushrooms.

Comments

Despite the all-vegetarian composition, the bowl according to this recipe turned out to be very satisfying. You can cook it for lunch and not think about food until dinner. I especially liked the fried tofu. It tastes like salty cheesecakes with a golden brown crust.

Ingredients for two servings

  • 300 g turkey fillet

  • two servings of soba – buckwheat noodles

  • avocado

  • cucumber

  • lettuce

  • 1 st. l. honey

  • 2 tbsp. l. teriyaki sauce

  • sesame

  • frying oil

Cooking

  1. Boil the soba according to package instructions.

  2. Cut the turkey into small pieces. Fry over high heat in a small amount of oil until tender. This will take about twenty minutes.

  3. Add soba, honey and teriyaki sauce to the turkey. Mix thoroughly and turn off the fire.

  4. Wash and dry lettuce leaves. Cut avocado and cucumber into slices.

  5. Place all ingredients in a bowl, sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.

Comments

Unusual serving of vegetable salad and traditional meat with garnish. You can take different ingredients in pieces or mix everything in a plate. I loved how the savory flavor of teriyaki sauce paired with a juicy, crunchy salad.
