Sony has officially unveiled the Xperia 5 IV smartphone – this is the fourth model in a line of compact sub-flagships. In the model range, such devices are positioned as slightly simplified versions of the top-end Xperia 1, but with high-end cameras.
Xperia 5 IV received a system with three 12 megapixel modules: the main one with an Exmor sensor and OIS / EIS hybrid stabilization, a wide-angle one with a capture angle of 124 ° and a telephoto lens with OIS, 2.5x optical zoom and 7.5x hybrid. Complements the system with Zeiss optics.
Each of these rear cameras is capable of recording video at 120fps in 4K resolution. The smartphone can also take 20 photos per second with autofocus, auto exposure, and HDR turned on. The selfie module is also 12 megapixels, it is hidden in the upper frame of the device, which is a rarity today.
The smartphone received a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2520 × 1080 pixels, an aspect ratio of 21:9, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a sensor at 240 Hz, full DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protective glass. Same cover on the back.
The Xperia 5 IV is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (4nm) with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. There is a slot for microSD cards up to 1 TB. The smartphone is pre-installed with Android 12.
Autonomous operation is provided by a 5,000 mAh battery with 30 W wired charging and support for wireless recharge, including reverse. Among other things: a 5G module, a fingerprint scanner on the side, an audio jack, stereo speakers and a case with moisture protection traditional for the series (IP65 / IP68).
The price of the Sony Xperia 5 IV was $999 (≈60,500 rubles). The start of sales in some regions of the world is scheduled for the end of October.
