On September 2, the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power aired on Amazon Prime Video. It is based on the novels of J. R. Tolkien and takes you to the Second Age of Middle-earth – thousands of years before the events of the films with Frodo and Bilbo Baggins.
The series will show the key events of those times: from the creation of the Rings to the fall of Numenor and the rise to power of Sauron, the minion of the mighty Morgoth.
The first reviews of the series were as positive as possible – all viewers praised the incredible scale and picture of the level of full-length films. Critics’ reviews that appeared a little later reduced the degree of delight a little. Some of them noted too slow pace and banal dialogues.
The episodes of “Rings of Power” last about an hour, in total there will be eight of them in the first season. The episodes will be released once a week, and the finale will be shown on October 14th.
