iPhone 14 Pro users complain about bugs in the camera and data transfer utilities

The first users of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are already actively complaining about problems with the new smartphones. Surprisingly, the problems are not observed with the new Dynamic Island, but with basic functions.

The first error occurs when transferring data from an old smartphone via iCloud or the Quick Start utility (turns on when two iPhones are nearby: activated and new). During the setup process, the device just freezes and stops responding to touch.

Apple has acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix. So far, users who encounter such an error are advised to perform a hard reset if the smartphone has been frozen for 5 minutes or more.

The second problem, also recognized by Apple, is the inability to connect to Wi-Fi during device activation. In this case, the user has two options:

  • Connect smartphone to PC or Mac for initial setup.
  • Select setup via PC, then return to the previous screen with setup via Wi-Fi and try to connect to the wireless network again. You may have to repeat this procedure several times, but in the end it should work.

iOS 16.0.1 fixed this, but iPhone 14s ship with iOS 16, so you’ll still need a computer to update.

There is a third error, this time not related to the initial setup, but to the operation of the camera in third-party applications. When shooting through TikTok, Snapchat and other similar services, the camera starts to shake uncontrollably, which is why it cannot focus. When shooting a video, a blurry picture is accompanied by a strange noise.

The point is probably the second-generation optical image stabilization system, which debuted in the 2022 Pro line. Users will have to wait until social networks are adapted to work with new cameras. For now, you can take photos and videos through the standard Camera app and use them for publications and stories.
